Yao Guai don’t always appear, but there’s a chance they will spawn.
Middle Mountain Cabins: Directly east of the White Spring Resort station. You can find the beasts somewhere around the building, usually just in front. Dolly Sods: To the east, in the Mire region, around the building on the map directly north-east of Mosstown and west of Crevasse Dam. This one can be high level and elite, so make sure you’re ready before you attack it.
Yao Guai can be found in the cemetery, and are often just in the parking lot.
Philippi Battlefield Cemetery: Far to the north this time, just to the east of the Palace of the Winding Path on the map. Go to the nearby train tracks and head either north or south, there should be Yao Guai in the general area. Mountainside Bed and Breakfast: Directly east of the Uncanny Caverns, the little yellow and grey house on the map. Beckwith Farm: Just south of Top of the World and west of Fred’s BBQ Shack and Site Alpha you’ll find Beckwith Farm. Head up the pass into the mountains and watch out for Yao Guai.
North of Top of the World, in the Savage Divide region, you’ll find the town of Monongah.
Monongah Overlook: You’ll be sent here as part of Rose’s second quest “Flavors of Mayhem,” the precursor to Key to the Past. Expect a nasty fight, because they’re quick, powerful, and an especially tough Yao Guai can kill you with one hit. While they aren’t guaranteed to appear immediately at these locations, a bit of exploring around those points should net you an encounter with a Yao Guai, if that’s really what you want. We’ve got a list of the most likely spawn points below. Yao Guai can appear in multiple locations throughout Fallout 76. Where are All the Fallout 76 Yao Guai Locations
